INTRODUCTION OF GROUP

The First Afghan Pigeon Association was created by two close friends, Farhad Hamsada and Haji Ali Noori on January 25th, 2022, who have been working for over 15 years to improve the bloodlines of Afghan pigeons. Haji Noori is a terrific breeder who owns an incredible collection of Afghan pigeons in California, and has provided his wealth of knowledge to his friend.

The group was formed through WhatsApp, after which two others joined. But these two aren’t ordinary pigeon companions. Haji Ahmad Naeem Ahmadi And Khalid Bayati are well-known among pigeon enthusiasts worldwide for their birds and overall service to the Afghan pigeon community. Farhad Hamsada added them to the group’s admin list. They started inviting other Afghan fanciers in California and soon began adding other pigeon lovers across the globe who expressed an interest in joining. A man of many hats, Farhad Hamsada produced three videos and designed a logo for the group.

The first video concerned the rules and regulations of the first Afghan Pigeon Association; the second was to encourage group members to interact. The message was, “Do not allow yourself or anyone to destroy the group; be involved in the group, and interact with others. Our group is to learn, share ideas and hopefully write a book regarding Afghan pigeons.” The third video had information on the program’s itinerary. For instance, we have days where we talk about the overall health of the birds, and there are days where we do our research, talk about the genetics of birds, learn from each other, debate, discuss, and learn about Afghan pigeons. We share our expertise even though we all have different views, backgrounds, ideas, and experiences. Still, at the end of the day, we all have one thing in common—the love that we share for pigeons. This was precisely the original idea in bringing everyone together and gather everyone’s beliefs and thoughts to agree on an outcome and then publish it worldwide through different platforms where it might benefit other Afghan pigeon aficionados. Also, other people around the world can learn about Afghan pigeons with the help of our members around the globe.

We have talented people in our group. Haris Nikzad has extensive knowledge in the pigeon world; in addition, he is a writer of note. Although many conservative fanciers in Afghanistan only believe in their own experiences and way of doing things, there are people in Afghanistan who are very diverse when it comes to the love of pigeons. Haji Noori has one of the best lofts in California, which he designed and built himself; also, with his knowledge of genetics, the way he breeds his Afghan Pigeons has created a vast selection of different varieties. Moreover, Mr. Ahmadi spends countless hours studying pigeons. He spends a lot of his time researching and working toward improvements of his farm. Mr. Ahmadi has over 500 birds in Kabul alone, and he has over 250 birds in the beautiful city of Herat province. Over the years, he has learned the ins and outs of the pigeons’ overall health, and when it comes to taking care of birds, he’s well informed; therefore, we have selected him to be the presenter of the group whenever there are discussions regarding the pigeon health. His insights of pigeons and medicine are beneficial to all those who love these birds.
